Day 1

Our representative will be waiting for you at the International airport to drive you to San José -the capital and largest city in the country- for your first night in Costa Rica. Overnight in San José.

Day 2

Transfer to Rios Tropicales white water rafting operation center in Siquirres, Winner of the 2008 National Geographic Geotourism Challenge – Besides being one of the most notable rafting outfits in the country, Rios Tropicales’ mission is to actively engage and collaborates with the local communities and their individual eco/geo-tourism entrepreneurs. En route from San Jose, you will be stopping for an authentic Costa Rican breakfast before reaching your site of embarkation. Once in the water, you’ll experience the exhilaration of riding the waves on this magnificent river (Class II-II rapids). Stay at the Pacuare Lodge, one of Costa Rica’s premier eco-lodges. The Pacuare Lodge’s eco-friendly bungalows are surrounded by exuberant tropical foliage, nestled between the river and our private nature reserve, which conserves 300 hectares (740 acres) of primary rainforest.

Days 3 & 4

Enjoy the best Costa Rica has to offer at isolated rainforest lodge--unparalleled natural surroundings and the utmost in comfort and service. Choose from exciting optional activities including treks through an emerald rainforest, Adventure Canopy Tour – where visitors glide amid a tropical rainforest canopy or a visit with Cabecar Indians - where visitors may participate in a cultural exchange with a shaman and the. Overnight at Pacuare Lodge.

Day 5

Wake up to bird song and the soothing sound of the river nearby. Mid-morning depart for approximately 3 1/2 hours of class III-IV rapids, including a delicious picnic lunch along the river. The day will end at Ecotermales Hot Springs; five free-flowing thermal pools set in a natural river gorge. Take a dip in the hot springs followed by a home-style dinner. Ecotermales Hot Springs is an exclusive retreat for those looking for arelaxing respite in natural springs heated by Arenal Volcano. Family owned and operated, the springs are surrounded by tropical foliage and set near an authentic ranch house .Overnight in Arenal.

Day 6

Hike to Cerro Chato the beginning of the Arenal Mountain Range and an old dormant volcano with similar characteristics to the Arenal Volcano. Trek through lush rain forest and pasture lands, and witness spectacular scenic views. Ascend into the Cloud Forest for a glimpse of the spectacular epiphytes, ferns, orchids, toucans and birds. Descend to La Fortuna waterfall. Afternoon kayaking Lake Arenal. Overnight in Arenal.

Forest

Day 7

Cycle through the rainforest within the awesome views of Arenal Volcano, or take the Sky Tram & Trek Canopy tour. This aerial tram or cable car is the only one in Costa Rica that elevates you to a platform offering a stunning view of the Arenal Volcano and lake. Sky Tram/Sky Trek Arenal offers a chance to see the rainforest from a bird’s eye. Enjoy spectacular views of Lake Arenal, the Tilarán mountain range and the volcano. Descend the hill on a two-hour adrenaline filled zip line tour along 3200 feet of cables or return in comfort via the aerial tram. More intrepid travelers can also hike down by foot along moderately strenuous trails.

Forest

Transfer to Manuel Antonio, Quepos, on Costa Rica’s Central Pacific coast. Quepos is a tropical inlet enveloped by primary rainforest, and one of the lushest destinations in Costa Rica with its white-gray sand beaches fringed by thickly forested green hills. The town of Quepos is an inviting combination of hotels, art galleries, bars and restaurants. Manuel Antonio is one of Costa Rica’s most celebrated nature reserves, brimming with monkeys, parrots, three-toed sloths and rare plant and animal species. Overnight near Manuel Antonio.

Beach

Day 8

Canyoning tour- also known as Waterfall Rappelling. This fantastic off-road tour allows you to climb and rappel down an 85ft waterfall where you can experience breathtaking views and sensations. All guides are safety-conscience and professionally trained to help curb your fears. All equipment is certified. In the afternoon enjoy the Rainforest Spices. This “FARM TOUR”, is set one of the most important Vanilla Farms in the country. This farm is a tropical laboratory for sustainable agriculture and includes 27 acres of agriculture production and 125 acres of primary and secondary rainforest. Cash crops include Costa Rica’s major spice, vanilla - plus cinnamon, black pepper, allspice and a variety of exotic fruits, essential oil and medicinal plants. In the evening, relax in your hotel near Manuel Antonio.

Beach

Day 9

Choose from horseback riding through the jungle, swimming with the dolphins, or enjoy a Coastal Kayaking. In the afternoon you will be provided private ground transportation back to San Jose.

Overnight in San José.

Day 10

At a convenient time, a transfer to Juan Santamaria International Airport will be arranged.
